Ayverie’s Journey to support Children’s Hospital

NORTH OAKVILLE – Ayverie Caster Smith is 8-years-old. In January, Ayverie was underwent brain surgery to remove a malignant tumour on her brain stem.
When told she would lose her hair as a result of her treatment for the cancer, Ayverie asked her mother, Valerie Caster, if she would cut her hair and sell it to someone that needs hair. Ayverie asked if they could have a party where everyone could donate their hair and money for kids just like her.  That party, Ayverie’s Journey, is taking place on Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 3 pm at the River Oaks Community Church (2435 Munn’s Avenue).

Cinderella will be stopping by the party between 1 and 2 pm, kids will have the chance to get their faces painted and Ayverie’s mom and aunt Lianne will be shaving their heads.
Funds raised will go to the McMaster Children’s Hospital.

The event is endorsed by the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and is being sponsored by Walmart, the Rotary Club of Oakville, the River Oaks Community Church, Caster Medical and RecurBox.ca. Donations are requested from those who attend. Anyone unable to attend that wishes to support Ayverie’s Journey can make a donation online at www.hamiltonhealth.ca (click donate, go to the survey question and you can designate your donation to McMaster Children’s Hospital – just make sure it’s in Ayverie’s name).
