In Loving Memory
Ayverie Anne Caster, February 6, 2005-April 3, 2019: Beautiful Cancer Warrior Queen, beloved daughter, granddaughter, cousin, niece and friend to all passed suddenly and peacefully in her Mommy’s arms at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, on Wednesday late in the afternoon. Ayverie and her loving medical staff dealt courageously with Medulloblastoma (brain cancer) for over 6 years until it claimed her young life. Ayverie was stubborn, feisty, witty, sarcastic and hilarious. Her uncoordinated dance moves, booming voice, dimpled smile, infectious laugh, humble giving heart moved everyone who knew her. She was the Toronto Raptors and Raptors 905’s biggest fan, competitive in everything she did as reflected in her willingness to kick anyone’s butt at UNO. Her natural curiosity made her a great skier, cook, bike rider, seamstress and student. Ayverie’s LOVE for everyone and everything will be missed.
Ayverie’s memories and life lessons will live on in her Mommy (Valerie Caster), brother (Damien Hawkins), Poppa and Nana (Bob and Janice Caster), Aunts and Uncles (Lianne and Brandon Cutler, Brad and Carla Robbins, Pam Polkey), Cousins (Georgia and Maddie Cutler), God Momma (Katie Dann), Rosaleen Rooney, Colm and Melissa Rooney, God Father Matt Foster and her beloved furry companions Nalla and Thorn and so many more family and friends.
Ayverie’s loving, giving and humble heart continue to give after she passed. Ayverie’s wishes were to continue to give after she left her earthly body. Ayverie was able to give another child the gift of sight, through cornea donation.
In lieu of flowers, Ayverie wishes for donations to be made to the Ayverie Childhood Cancer Research Fund. Donations can be e-transferred to donations@ayveriesjourney.ca or to the Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario, or a charity of choice in Ayverie’s honor. Donation cards will be made available at the funeral home.
To celebrate Ayverie please dress casual for her visitation and her service and wear her favourite colour turquoise, or Raptors gear.
